How long does PR processing take?

• “Applications will be processed within 6 months, provided all the required documents are submitted and are in order. Some applications may take longer to process.”
• ICA’s FAQ adds that, depending on the complexity of the case, some applications may take more than 6 months.
• You are told the outcome by email (post for applications submitted before 26 June 2024) and can check status in MyICA or the e-Service.

• In our own sample of 70 self-reported cases with a duration, the median was about 7.8 months (middle half: 5–11 months). Rejections were reported anywhere from 3 to 19 months, so a long wait is not a reliable sign either way.
• Applicants often say that when the “upload documents” option disappears from the e-Service, an outcome tends to follow within days.
• Reported waits range widely, from about 2 months to more than 15. Posts about the post-June-2024 e-Service cluster around 4–7 months.
• A crowd-sourced tracker (SGPRAPP) reports a median of about 6 months among 408 approved cases with dates (2024–26), with about 90% decided within 12 months. It counts approvals only, and its users are mostly from mainland China working in tech.
• Family applications are reported to take roughly 2–3 months longer than single ones on the same tracker.
• Many posters say that speed does not predict the outcome.
