- ICA says it takes into account “family ties to Singaporeans, economic contributions, qualifications, age, family profile and length of residency”, to assess the applicant’s ability to contribute, integrate, and commit to sinking roots in Singapore.
- Population in Brief 2026: of new PRs granted in 2025, 24.5% were aged 20 or below, 32.5% were 21–30, 32.2% were 31–40 and 10.9% were over 40.
- Aged parents of citizens are a separate category; MHA reports that on average 1% of about 1,900 applications a year were approved between 2020 and 2025.
