Does having a Singapore-born child help?

• ICA says it takes into account “family ties to Singaporeans, economic contributions, qualifications, age, family profile and length of residency”, to assess the applicant’s ability to contribute, integrate, and commit to sinking roots in Singapore.
• A child born in Singapore to two foreign parents is not automatically a Singapore citizen. The birth certificate isn’t needed for births registered in Singapore.
